SESAMUM INDICUM SEED EXTRACT

Sesamum indicum oder Sesam ist eine Pflanze, welche vor allem in tropischen Regionen beheimatet ist. Der Inhaltsstoff wird aus den Samen extrahiert und besteht aus verschiedenen Fettsäuren wie Palmitinsäure, Linol- und Linolensäure, sowie weiteren zum Großteil ungesättigten Fettsäuren. (1)
Außerdem hat es eine antioxidative Wirkung. (2) In kosmetischen Produkten wird es zudem oft aufgrund der enthaltenen Myristinsäure verwendet, da diese als stabilisierender Emulgator fungiert. (1) Es wurde im Rahmen einer Sicherheitsbewertung für kosmetische Inhaltsstoffe als sicher eingestuft. (3)
