PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-38

Palmitoyl tripeptide-38 is a synthetic peptide composed of the amino acids lysine, methionine, and lysyl, and is bound to palmitic acid. The complex referred to as Volulip™ includes Palmitoyl tripeptide-38. In in-vivo studies conducted by the manufacturer, the twice-daily application of a product containing 1% Volulip™ resulted in a visible improvement in the appearance of the lips (smoothness, curvature, surface, and volume), moisture, and youthfulness (better contour and plumping effect) in at least 69% of the female participants. (2) It belongs to the "matrikin-mimetic compounds" that play a key role in the synthesis of elastin and collagen. In addition, it can stimulate cell proliferation. Palmitic acid as a component also has an antioxidant effect. It is considered recommended for use in cosmetic products and has been classified as safe as part of a safety assessment for cosmetic ingredients. (1)
