Why are ceramides good for the lips?

Our lips do not have classic sweat and sebaceous glands, only Fordyce glands, which are also referred to as free sebaceous glands. However, Fordyce glands are present in much smaller numbers compared to sebaceous glands in other areas of the body. Therefore, the amount of sebum produced in this area is correspondingly lower.
Accordingly, the lips are particularly affected by environmental stimuli such as cold and dry air, thus they tend to dry out more quickly. Ceramides reduce transepidermal water loss and strengthen the skin barrier of the lips. This is crucial because the horn layer and thus the skin barrier of the lips is less pronounced compared to the rest of the face. For these reasons, it is all the more important to promote the formation and strengthening of the skin barrier through the use of ceramides.
They ensure smooth and well-cared-for lips and better moisture supply.

When does the effect of Perfect Plump occur and how long does the effect last?

The effect usually occurs after just a few seconds to minutes and lasts for several hours. The maximum effect is reached after approximately 10 minutes.

In what order should I apply the products?

Lip products can be applied as needed, regardless of a routine. Here, the individual functions of the products should be utilized according to the desired effect, such as the sun protection of Hypnotic Hues, the repairing effect of Better Balms, and the plumping effect of Perfect Plump. If you would like to apply the products together, we recommend applying the Better Balm first and allowing it to absorb well. Then you can use the Perfect Plump for the plumping effect and finally apply the Hypnotic Hues for SPF and color.
There are no fixed rules – you can also combine just two products with each other. If, for example, the Perfect Plump seems too intense to you, you can apply the Better Balm or Hypnotic Hues underneath to slightly soften the circulation-boosting effect.
