SODIUM HYDROXIDE

Sodium hydroxide, also known as soda lye, is an alkaline salt and is used in cosmetics in small amounts as a pH regulator to ensure that the final product reaches the desired pH range to ensure skin compatibility and product stability. In higher doses, sodium hydroxide is harmful. (1)
