Sesamum Indicum Seed Extract

Sesamum indicum or sesame is a plant that is primarily native to tropical regions. The ingredient is extracted from the seeds and consists of various fatty acids such as palmitic acid, linoleic and linolenic acid, as well as other mostly unsaturated fatty acids. (1)
Additionally, it has an antioxidant effect. (2) In cosmetic products, it is also often used due to the myristic acid it contains, as this acts as a stabilizing emulsifier. (1) It was classified as safe within the framework of a safety assessment for cosmetic ingredients. (3)
