ALLANTOIN
Allantoin is a skin-soothing active ingredient found in plants such as comfrey. In a study, a cream with 0.5% allantoin was able to accelerate skin regeneration and reduce skin redness after a targeted irritation.(1) Additionally, allantoin has an occlusive effect and can thus reduce the transepidermal water loss of the skin.1 Additionally, allantoin has a strong antioxidant effect and protects the skin from free radicals.
