SODIUM ACRYLATES COPOLYMER

Sodium acrylates copolymer is a water-soluble polymer that acts as a film-forming, emulsion-stabilizing, and viscosity-controlling agent. (1) Polymers are small molecules that consist of repeating units of chemically bonded monomers. They are present everywhere in nature; for instance, the DNA found in all living cells, as well as the proteins and starches in our food, are all made up of polymers. The polymers most frequently used in cosmetics have cationic charges that give the skin a smooth and nourishing effect. Other polymers can, for example, form a film on the skin surface. (2)
