SODIUM LEVULINATE

Sodium levulinate is the sodium salt of levulinic acid. As a preservative, it can help improve the shelf life of products by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms. There are no usage restrictions for sodium levulinate in cosmetic products in the European Union; it is considered non-irritating and safe. (1)
